Thank you so much, Organicpixel!
This means a whole lot to me because anyone who has ever been in our house knows we have a whole lot of white walls and not a lot on them.
I may have mentioned that I have some immensely talented friends. Anthony and I decided that the best art we could possibly have would be things made by our friends.
We recently received two pictures from Jose, this one from Meg, a bird from Melynda, and a photo from Sunday. I have also asked Justy, who is a professional artist, if he had anything he wouldn't mind parting with. It would be wonderful if I could get something from either one of the Akers(-Shea) because they are both talented also.
Thank you again, Organic pixel! I'm sure you already know how much I love it because I think I favorited every single lotus and waterlily picture on your flickr.

HEY MUM don't worry, I don't have an Alkaline Trio tattoo! I mean really, who gets an Alkaline Trio tattoo? It's not even like they are or ever have been my favourite band or anything. And I don't think I would get a lyrics tattoo at all, anyway. In fact I probably wouldn't get a text tattoo, I like them on other people (frinstance, I know a lass who just has the word 'clarity' and I think it's really beautiful and wonderful) but I suppose for myself I have never thought there are any words that would be perfect enough and complete enough, that I could decide on and be satisfied with forever - words have meant so very much to me for so very, very long, and as you'll probably have noticed, I tend not to use one when ten will do, and that's true of a lot of my favourite writers as well; and then there's the fact that I guess I will always have favourite writers, plural, not just one writer or one book or one sentence or one word. So I suppose it's all about the fact that if I did ever manage to choose some words that I wanted on my skin I would just feel the crushing absence of all the others (I don't quite know why it doesn't work that way for pictures, though...) Oh, and apart from anything else I definitely wouldn't get a tattoo in my dodgy handwriting.
Painting on yourself is totally okay and cool though, obv.
Oh, yeah, and in case you were wondering I do really have all the other ones - what you see there is a very unfinished half sleeve. I have an appointment for three more hours at the weekend.
So this week the quotation is in the photo. This week has been weird, to be honest, and I certainly have been feeling very young (not dying, though, or not any faster than usual, you'll be pleased to hear). I've not really been being particularly sensible. I've been very alive, though (well, some of the time. Some of the time I was daaamn hungover.) It's been... good.
'you took your time and stashed it away
deep down inside of a cardboard box
marked "rainy day"
live young, die fast
no one will last
so sit back and relax
enjoy the crash
you're fading to black and it's gone
live young, die fast
and I feel a miracle
in every breath that I breathe
won't let this miracle end in tragedy
I sense a miracle
in all that I see
won't let this miracle slip away from me
live young, die fast'

Seeing your yellow drooping heads reminds me of him

You know it seems almost unbelievable that in a few days time it will have been a year since And died. By this time last year, as it turned out, he and I had seen each other for the very last time. :-(
Yellow flowers have never been my favourites, but with this long hard winter we have had I have found myself yearning to see the drooping yellow heads of daffodils to signal Spring is on it's way.
Yellow flowers were And's favourite, so when I saw these miniature daffodils planted decoratively in a dinghy at Battlesbridge I couldn't resist taking a shot and taking a moment to think fondly of And.
As you may gather this week will not be easy by any means for me or And's family members and friends, not least least because sometime over the Easter weekend I will have to again return to Beachy Head where I shall take flowers for And.
It's the stupidest of things, but I'm not sure what day to mark his passing. He was found on 5th April, but almost certainly died a couple of days before that most likely sometime on the Friday. The 5th is Easter Monday this year.
