Yellow flowers abound along the banks of the Dry Comal Creek, including the Golden Tickseed (Coreopsis tinctoria), or Plains Coreopsis or Calliopsis, a very common springtime flower found throughout the United States.

A bee feasts on the flower of a Maximilian Sunflower (Helianthus maximiliani). One of the more common sunflower species found throughout the central third of the United States, this plant was at Comanche Lookout Park in San Antonio.

Picture A Day August 31, 2010 - Climbing Snapdragon (Maurandella antirrhiniflora) at Comanche Lookout Park

A couple of small violet flowers of the Climbing snapdragon (Maurandella antirrhiniflora). Native to the greater southwest of the United States, this vine was found along the side of the trail at Comanche Lookout Park in northeast San Antonio.
