Deep into the brown of Winter wildflowers.

HDR was not needed for this image but I thought HDR communicated the grittiness, dryness and browns of Winter here a bit better than a single image.

This oscote365 set is my picture a day (PAD) for a year where the only stipulation is that I am standing on our land. The goal is deepen my appreciation for and connection to this little piece of land we live upon through seeing it better via photography.

Turk's Cap (Malvaviscus drummondii) in Winter.

Notes: There was bright background and the flowers being dark red required I bracket this image to get everything exposed "normal". But when processing bokeh laden images such as these with HDR techniques you can get some good or bad results. The bokeh came out not so good in this HDR result. IMHO, bokeh should be creamy without distinct lines. But then the lens used here is not known for great bokeh either (Nikon 55mm f/2.8 Micro).

Thanks to gherm for the title. He described one of my pictures as 'saupoudrée de sucre glace' - sprinkled with icing sugar... I like the word 'saupoudrée' !
