A single Shot from the backyard around dusk. Thought I'd experiment a little with this one.

Lens: 16-35mm, (Focal length was 35mm)
ISO: 400
F-Stop: 2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/2000 (there was a little breeze blowing so wanted to freeze the flowers)

I love the lumpy shape of the foreground petal, but wish the center of the flower weren't so blown-out and also wish there was a bit more contrast/interest in the background.

The white-yellow flowers of the Plumeria-tree have an intensive sweet flavour. Photographed in Sri Lanka 10/2011 during a storm with alternating rain and sun, so beautiful light.The common name "Frangipani" comes from an Italian noble family, a sixteenth-century marquess who invented a plumeria-scented perfume. Many English speakers also simply use the generic name "plumeria". In Hawaii, the name is "melia". In Sri Lanka, it is referred to as araliya and (in English) as the Temple Tree. In Sri Lankan tradition, Plumeria is associated with worship.
