A single Shot from the backyard around dusk. Thought I'd experiment a little with this one.
Camera: Canon 40d
Lens: 16-35mm, (Focal length was 35mm)
ISO: 400
F-Stop: 2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/2000 (there was a little breeze blowing so wanted to freeze the flowers)

I love the lumpy shape of the foreground petal, but wish the center of the flower weren't so blown-out and also wish there was a bit more contrast/interest in the background.

The white-yellow flowers of the Plumeria-tree have an intensive sweet flavour. Photographed in Sri Lanka 10/2011 during a storm with alternating rain and sun, so beautiful light.The common name "Frangipani" comes from an Italian noble family, a sixteenth-century marquess who invented a plumeria-scented perfume. Many English speakers also simply use the generic name "plumeria". In Hawaii, the name is "melia". In Sri Lanka, it is referred to as araliya and (in English) as the Temple Tree. In Sri Lankan tradition, Plumeria is associated with worship.

Flower chafers are a group of scarab beetles. The adult insects visit flowers to feed on pollen and nectar or browse the petals. Most of them tend to be hairy and are good pollinators but some species are considered pests.

I believe the flower chafer depicted in this photo belongs to genus Oxythyrea.
UPDATE: Looks like it's Oxythyrea cinctella after all. Thanks to J. Coelho for the identification and Eckehard Roessner and Frank Köhler for the confirmation.

I Shot My Macro This Way:
Canon EOS 400D, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, no flash.
In broad daylight, raising the sensitivity to ISO:400 enabled me to use an f/16 aperture (for a decent depth of field to cover most of the insect), while still maintaining a workable shutter speed (1/320sec). Shot in aperture priority mode, with an exposure bias of -2/3EV, in order not to overexpose the white flower petals.
